Pretty cool news yesterday with the announcement of the 2013 SXSW Film Festival's MIDNIGHTERS selection, where my film CHEAP THRILLS will be having its world premiere!
Been sitting on this bit of news for a few weeks. Really stoked to finally get a film into this festival. Unfortunately, there wasn't any release of a trailer (though I hear it's being worked on now) or poster or anything to go with it. So a few significant links will have to do for this update.

Like I said, wish that I had more interesting images or videos to go with this text-and-link-heavy post, but I don't.
More to come ...

trent have you seen my comment about my 24 inch waist and told you to upload pictures how slim you are and also promise not to upload with the human skin or anything??
I have, Kahmei. You can easily google my name for pictures of me ... or, better yet, seek out some of the movies that I act in.
No human skin clothes. Thank you.

So Trent my aunty was worrying about making friends with you
I can understand that - my movies and work certainly aren't for everyone ... Aunties are good people that love you and are looking out for you. Consider yourself lucky to have one!

Congratulations, Mr. Haaga! I hope Cheap Thrills makes some more festival rounds; can’t wait to see it, but sadly, will not be attending SXSW...
Would you mind if I asked you a question about Heebie Jeebies? I was just curious if that was a totally original Trent Haaga screenplay idea? Or does SyFy send you an outline or a monster to build a story around?
trent why you won't reply to my email?
Kahmei - I'm a busy man. And I won't give you my personal phone number, as I told you. Rest assured, I get all of your emails and whatnot. You can support me by buying my movies!
As for HEEBIE JEEBIES, I was hired by SyFy to write a movie for SyFy. There are a lot of rules and regulations for their movies that I had to abide by, but I'm still generally disappointed with the way it turned out ... that monster, while interesting in concept, was executed horribly. Basically, SyFy gave me a title and then I had to pitch a ton of concepts until they said yes. I tried to go with a lot more interesting conceptual stuff, but eventually got tired and just said, "How about a big monster that emanates something that gives you the heebie jeebies?"
And that's what I did. Not my proudest moment, but I got paid and fed the family.
